As a booster board member, I used to think that after marching season things would slow down. 😂 #ThatIsALie This time of year is just as busy as any - Jazz Band in full swing, Marching Band reveal and sign ups, Solo & Ensemble, Indoor Percussion Contests, feeding the Pep Band and Winter Guard taking the stage for the first time this season! Here is snapshot of this week in band!
All Band Program Announcements:
ISSMA Solo & Ensemble - We are hosting all students in our district this weekend at NHS for Solo & Ensemble! We NEED YOUR help! PLEASE help us be gracious hosts and sign up for shift. If you are willing to pick up an extra shift or stay longer, please check in at the volunteer table (located in the cafeteria) and they will gladly assign you a spot!
Hooded Letter Jackets Update: The factory is back up and running and the new estimated delivery date is early March. We apologize for the delay! Any specific questions please email our music secretary, Holly Leib - holly_leib@nobl.k12.in.us. *Please be kind to Holly and remember she is not making the letter jackets nor did she start the fire in the jacket warehouse. 🔥
Butter Braid Fundraiser: Your student should be bringing home a Butter Braid fundraiser packet. They are available in the band room.
Orders are due - Feb 21st
Delivery - March 7th *All orders are frozen and MUST be picked up March 7th

IPA (Indiana Percussion Association) - Noblesville Contest: Saturday February 25th Proceeds from this fundraiser go in our big fundraising bucket that is used to support all of our students in ALL of our groups! We are looking for chair people to help with:

Varsity - Congrats to our Varsity Winter Guard who took 3rd place in their first contest this season!
JV - A great first outing for our JV guard who finished 6th in their division
NIPE
NIPE is excited to "reveal" their 2023 show, "Unraveled"!
Feb. 18th NIPE Plainfield performance time is @7:19. Stay tuned for more info on departure time and treat bag donations. Spirit wear is here and can be picked up on Saturday (location TBD). Students will receive show shirt in the coming week!

Jazz Band
Jazz Band is in Full Swing!! See what I did there? LOL. The Jazz program has spent numerous hours working to perfect their skills and are now ready to show it off.
Jazz 1 and Jazz 2 met with Beloit High School from Wisconsin. They had a jam session and then hung out and bowled the night away. What an experience for all involved.
Jazz 1 competed at the Purdue Jazz Festival. Although they did not place they had an amazing performance and came home with great feed back on what they need to continue to work on. Jazz one has been working on recordings to submit to Essentially Ellington.
Next up ALL Jazz bands are heading to Pendleton Jazz Fest: February 10th (Jazz 4, 5, 6 performs) and February 11th (Jazz 1, 2, 3 performs). Want to listen to some great music? We hope to see you there!!
