Black and Gold Special Edition

It's finally here! Black & Gold week! We host a fantastic invitational for area bands, and this newsletter will provide more information on where to park and what to do Saturday. We are very appreciative of our marching band family! So many people have already put in countless hours to make this event a success, and we have many more hands lined up to help Saturday. Thanks for your part in making this event a success! Please refer to Mr. Thornbury's e-mail regarding the student schedule.

Marching Band Quick Info

  • Black and Gold Invitational: Noblesville will perform at 9:45 PM.

  • Booster's provide a meal for the band Saturday - menu: Pulled pork sandwiches, macaroni and cheese, green beans or fresh carrots with ranch, fresh fruit and dessert.

  • 50/50 Raffle is over $27,000!!! WE NEED YOUR HELP! Please repost on social media, check out tickets on Thursday evenings, and return your ticket stubs and money when you have sold them!

Black and Gold Invitational Information

  • Where do I park? Please park at East Middle School. We want to save the spots at the high school for visitors. #getyoursteps

  • Where do I go once I arrive? Check in at the volunteer table (outside gate 29 - band room) before and after your shift.

  • Can I watch the invitational before/after my shift? You will get an admission wristband after your shift. If your shift is late and you would like to watch bands before, please stop by the volunteer table.

  • Am I guaranteed to work where I signed up? We may need to move volunteers around to fill open spots that are most needed! Please be flexible and willing to accommodate!

  • What should I wear? Please wear show shirt, Marching Miller gear or black & gold! We will have volunteer buttons for all volunteers to wear!

  • How can I help beyond my required 4 hours? Please consider picking up an extra shift! This is a BIG fundraiser for our program and so rewarding to give students the chance to perform in our beautiful new stadium!

  • Am I fully dressed without a smile? No! Please be welcoming and gracious! These bands made the choice to come to Noblesville and support our program!!!

If you are sharing info with your friends/family - spectator info (ticketing, parking, maps, etc…) can be found on our here!

Practice Reminder

Please help your student remember water.! There have been many students "borrowing" a water from the closet recently because they forget to pack a water from home. It is still warm weather, and ideally they are hydrating all day! A snack to eat after school can also be helpful!

Flapjacks for Fuel: Support the Marching Millers

We have a fun new event we are trying with our partners at Noblesville Kiwanis! All-you-can-eat-pancakes by Kiwanis will be available 8:00 AM - 11:00 AM on October 12th at Noblesville First United Methodist. Marching band students eat free! Proceeds cover the cost of the meal for students and support the food fund for our marching band. Come fill your tummy and fuel the Marching Millers!

SENIOR NIGHT OCTOBER 4TH

We love to celebrate our seniors in marching band! Senior Night is fast approaching, so mark your calendars for October 4th! Seniors will be recognized at pregame of the football game that evening. The planning committee is hard at work to make this a special evening! Stay tuned for more details in coming weeks!

Volunteer Information...IMPORTANT!

We currently have volunteer needs for September practices, football games, tailgating, band meals, and raffle sales! Check out all the volunteer opportunities here..

Volunteer Hours: Please email volunteers@noblesvilleband.org regarding total hours volunteered this season.

As a reminder, listed below is the volunteer commitment every family signed at the beginning of the season. It is available to have someone volunteer in your stead to meet this requirement if needed. Just have the student’s name listed on the SUG.

  • 20 volunteer hours total (per household)

    • 4 hours must be on Sept 21st at our Black & Gold Marching Invitational.

  • If you are unable or unwilling to fulfill these volunteer commitments in FULL, there will be an additional $300 fee for the season. This will be invoiced to you at the end of the season. This fee becomes part of the obligation to pay. You may opt-out of the volunteer requirement for the season by paying this fee in advance.

50/50 Raffle Information

Millers, you all keep stepping up and your raffle committee loves you for it! We are doing so great, but we cannot afford to lose momentum. We would love to have a jackpot over $50,000. Keep checking out and selling those tickets. Keep publicizing. Keep signing up to help in our super fun booths! We have less than a month to beat last year's total.

Right now, the pot is at $27,700! Don't forget to check out the SignUp Genius. We have openings for homecoming and more. Also, a reminder that the Venmo for the raffle is only to be used during our events. It is too difficult to track individual Venmo sales, so please do not use the Venmo for personal sales.

We appreciate our Miller Band Family! It pays to play!
