March 2nd Booster News

Highlights of the week (in case your attention span is only 30 seconds):

  • Jazz 1 to begin fundraising to compete in New York City! Learn how you can help by making a donation! https://www.noblesvilleband.org/ellington

  • 36 events & 60 students achieved GOLD at ISSMA State Solo & Ensemble! 10 events received GOLD with Distinction!

  • Winter Guard 2nd Place at WGI Regional in Chicago! Ranked 17th Nationally! Catch them Saturday in Zionsville

  • NIPE in their first WGI Regional contest this Saturday at Franklin Central.

  • Pep Band lead Miller Nation and the girls to a State Championship!

  • Butterbraid fundraiser pick up is tomorrow 3/3/22 from 4pm-6pm in the hallway outside the band room. Enter gate 29! - The butter braids come frozen and once thawed expand and need to be cooked or refrigerated - it is VITAL that you pick up your orders tomorrow.

 

Concert Band

Congratulations to Our students who represented Noblesville at the ISSMA STATE Solo and Ensemble Contest. We had 36 events and over 60 students achieve Gold Ratings with over 10 events qualifying for With Distinction!! - WAY TO GO!!!!!

Jazz Band

Under the Direction of Bethany Robinson


Essentially Ellington-New York City

Jazz 1 will kick off fundraising for their NYC trip this week via SnapRaise and website donations! Learn more about how YOU can help! Essentially Ellington Festival dates are May 5-7, with designated travel dates on May 4-8. Competition days at the Lincoln Center are May 6 & 7, with the final concert and awards at 7:30pm on May 7th. Jazz 1 performance dates and times will be shared in the next few weeks!


Butler Swing Night:

On Friday, February 25, Noblesville Jazz Ensembles performed alongside Butler

University at Kappa Kappa Psi’s Swing Night!


Lincoln Center Orchestra & Wynton Marsalis Concert:

On Sunday, February 27th, members of NHS Jazz Ensembles attended The Center for the Performing Arts in Carmel to see the Lincoln Center Orchestra, led by Wynton Marsalis. This is a group of 15 of the finest soloists, ensemble players and arrangers of jazz music today! What a night to remember!



Jazz Café-NEW DATE:

We have a NEW Jazz Cafe Date for 2022 on Friday, April 29th, one week before the previously scheduled date. Mark your calendars for this special night! A guest artist will be announced soon!


ISSMA JAZZ & Ball State Jazz Festival

These are our two biggest festivals of the year! Both Jazz 1 & Jazz 2 will be performing to qualify for state finals, which will be held on March 18. The top 8 bands in Indiana will perform at the March 18th event.

  • · March 4, ISSMA Jazz District Festival- Greenfield Central HS

  • · March 5, Ball State Jazz Festival-Ball State University

 

NIPE (Noblesville Indoor Percussion Ensemble)

Under the Direction of Murray Mast


After a quick respite, NIPE heads off to a possible double-header this weekend: The WGI Percussion Regional! If NIPE finishes in the top 7 Saturday they compete again Sunday morning. The competition takes place at Franklin Central; Noblesville performs on Saturday in the prelims at 10:18am. Tickets are $15 for Saturday, $18 for Sunday or $28 for both days. There is also a livestream: WGI.org/webcast.

  • March 4th rehearsal ends at 7pm

Winter Guard

Under the Direction of Jeff Welsh



Colorguard finished 2nd at WGI Regionals in Chicago! They are currently ranked 17th nationally.

Catch the guard Saturday at Zionsville. Performing at 6:08pm.

Spectators enter through Door 27 and admission is $7.



 

Pep Band


The pep band traveled downtown Indy to help lift the Lady Millers to a state championship! Way to represent Miller Nation!

Join the Noblesville Band Boosters for our general meeting! Hear from our Board of Directors and Band Directors. We will discuss the state of the program, present budgets and open up the floor to questions.
